Relax at this airy second floor guest house in the hills, surrounded by beautiful trees. With over 1,000 square feet, two beds and a sofa bed, a fully equipped kitchen, and a large balcony with bistro set, its cozy and spacious with everything you need! A retreat styled home overlooking the pool and property. The outdoor spaces are shared with my family, & downstairs guests. Swim and lounge by the pool, enjoy the propane BBQ, & the newly renovated turf courtyard with playground for littles!

The space

Brand new stainless steel appliances, couch with sofa bed.

This guest house is located in the hills of La Mesa, situated behind the front home, on an acre of property. It's the second floor unit, above the downstairs guest house. The area is quiet and peaceful, and set back from neighbors and the road. You'll take the long driveway up to the home, and park in your designated space. Upon entering using contactless, keyless entry, you'll take a flight of stairs into your home away from home. The first bedroom, with a double bed, is at the top of the stairs, loft style, with a clothing hutch. The bedrooms are on opposite ends, with the living area in between, providing nice privacy for couples traveling together.

Through the first bedroom is the door leading to the rest of the home. There is a patio overlooking the pool and property, which spans the length of the home, accessible from both bedrooms and the living room. The second bedroom, with a queen bed, closet, dresser, and smart TV, is at the far end of the home. The kitchen is well stocked to provide everything you'll need to enjoy home cooked meals, as well as a coffee station. The living room has a queen size sofa bed, with extra bedding provided in the hall closet, a smart TV, DVD player, games and movies available. The bathroom has a tub/shower, with towels, soaps, and a hair dryer provided.

You have access to a coin op shared laundry room. The pool is not heated, so typically not used in the winter. With an acre of property to enjoy, our guests are free to hike up the hill for a sunrise, and pick fresh oranges and lemons from our fruit trees. The newly renovated turf courtyard has a playground and outdoor toys for the little ones to enjoy.

Travel crib, high chair, and baby bath upon availability with advanced notice.

Six guests maximum, including children and infants.

Guests have fully private access to the guest house, and all shared outdoor spaces (pool, courtyard, seating areas)

Guest interaction

Outdoor spaces are shared with my family in the front home, and the downstairs guest house. I am happy to assist with anything you might need during your stay. You have a private back entrance to your home right next to where you’ll park.

Neighborhood overview

Centrally located in the rolling hills of San Diego County, La Mesa is known as the Jewel of the Hills. A near perfect climate, tree-lined streets, walkable neighborhoods, easy access to retail and commercial areas, and a quaint downtown village make La Mesa a highly desirable community! It is about a 15-20 minute drive to all of San Diego's main attractions - the Zoo, Seaworld, Coronado Beach, Pacific Beach, Mission Beach, Downtown, Petco Park, and the SD Convention Center.

Getting around

Driving is the best way to get around, though it's a nice 20 minute walk (through the hills) to the farmers market and shops in La Mesa Village.

House Rules

We expect you to treat our home as if it were your own. We reserve the right to cancel your reservation without refund and immediate eviction may occur if strict rules are violated.

STRICT RULES
1. Occupants exceeding the number declared on the reservation will NOT BE PERMITTED TO STAY PAST 10PM.
Children & infants are considered occupants.
2. No more than 3 guests above the stated number of occupants in your reservation are allowed on premises, without advanced approval.
3. Only small speakers playing at low volume are allowed outside.
4. There is no smoking of any kind (tobacco, marijuana, hookah) on the property. The fine is $500.

OTHER RULES
5. Remove excess trash and wash dishes before checkout.
6. Furniture must be moved back before departure.
7. Lock all doors and windows, and turn off AC before leaving the home.
8. Pets are not allowed without written authorization.
